Contingency Theory


Contingency relates to an organizational theory which states there is not one best way to organize a corporation, lead a company, or make decisions. The optimal course of action is contingent (dependent) upon internal and external factors. Contingency Consulting Group is an information technology (IT) and management consulting firm that was founded to make a difference in people's lives and accelerate the organizational growth curve for businesses. We drive organizational effectiveness. We work with our clients to understand, enable, and build the capabilities that allow their organizations to achieve market advantages and ensure sustainable positions within their respective markets. In essence, the principals of Contingency Consulting Group effectively apply the appropriate solutions specific to the situations.

All staff members within the management consulting practice (Contingency Leadership Group) have earned terminal degrees (Ph.D.s, D.B.A.s, etc.) and are Adjunct Professors at accredited institutions of higher learning. Therefore, all of our management consultants are on the leading edge of business research, education, and application. All of our consultants have more than 20 years of business experience in leadership roles in highly complex organizations.

All IT staff members within our IT practice (Contingency IT Group) have earned industry certifications (CCIE, CISSP, etc.) and have multiple years of industry experience working in very complex enterprise networks for Fortune 500 companies. We are certain all of our IT Consultants are on the leading edge of technology and will deliver superior quantifiable results, thus positively impacting the success of your company.

Dr. Joseph Linton, DBA, MSM
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Joseph Linton is the Founder, CEO, and a Principal of the Contingency Consulting Group and has overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction of the company. He is also an Adjunct Professor, where he currently lectures masters-level leadership classes (Organizational Effectiveness and Power & Influence). He has previously lectured masters-level courses such as Talent Management, Organizational Change, Leadership Ethics, and Collaboration & Team Building. He also currently lectures Information Systems Management (ISM) to undergraduate students. Lastly, he sits on the Board of Directors of a Minneapolis-based company.

Prior to assuming his current position in 2017, Dr. Linton served in multiple technical, consultative and leadership positions with several Fortune 500 companies and the United States Army. Dr. Linton holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electronics Management, a Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, a Graduate Certificate in Information Leadership and Management, and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree with a concentration in Information Systems Management. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) with a concentration in Networking Technology. The title of Dr. Linton’s dissertation is Strategies to Support Survivors of Corporate Downsizing.



Donald Williams, CCIE, BS
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Donald Williams, CCIE is a Principal and Chief Technology Officer provides leadership through his knowledge of technology and technological trends. He is responsible for researching new technologies, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring the company’s technological resources align with our business goals. He has had the privilege to lead teams and influence organizational leadership for large corporations with network design, implementation, and project management efforts.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Williams honed his expertise while serving in multiple sales engineering, network consulting, network architecture, and technical support positions with several Fortune 500 networking and communications companies. He has expertise in leading engineering staffs in the area of professional services, network consulting in pre and post sales support services technical organizations. His many years of industry experience has allowed him to develop numerous business relationships with IT vendors and targeted enterprise clients.



Lisa Johnson, PMP, MBA
Chief Customer Officer

Ms. Lisa Johnson is a Principal and Chief Customer Officer and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive customer experience. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of the customer experience, by building a 360-degree view of each customer. She partners with the customer to understand their business strategy, drivers, and overall needs to successfully compete in today’s technology-driven business environment. Under Lisa’s leadership, the Customer Experience Organization will lead the Contingency Consulting Group’s strategy of providing exemplary customer success best practices as well as managing customer acquisition and retention.

Ms. Johnson has extensive experience in developing a customer-centric culture and partnering with customers to develop strategies that facilitate business growth and organizational satisfaction through her team’s continuous engagement. Previously, she has served in varying leadership roles providing exceptional care where her team oversaw customer services, support, and relationship management throughout the customer lifecycle.

Lisa holds a master’s degree in business administration from Mercer University and is a certified project manager through the Project Management Institute.



Barry Wright, MBA, BS
Chief Projects Officer

Mr. Barry Wright is a Principal and Chief Projects Officer and is responsible for the Project Management Office. He is an accomplished network architect and trusted adviser to Fortune 500 C- level leadership regarding legal standards of data management and best of breed solutions. He is also an advisory board member involved in risk management.

Mr. Wright has extensive experience in all phases of network pre-sales, architecture design, development and deployment. He has expert-level experience analyzing, designing and implementing global enterprise networks with cloud based multi-tenant, and multi-tier network architecture. He has experience effectively managing global project teams in the design and implementation of fully integrated networks. He has a strong understanding of network routers, switches and appliances. He has expertise in evaluating and improving existing systems with new features and performance improvements with a consistent record of on time, on budget project delivery, resulting in cutting costs, increased product value and revenue streams significantly impacting bottom-line results.



Yaniry Pacheco Correa
Director, Strategic Initiatives

Ms. Yaniry Pacheco is the Director of Strategic Initiatives and is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and partnerships, implementing long term business plans to capitalize on those opportunities, and ensuring alignment with the mission and vision of the company. Responsible for creating proposals, appropriate reporting, and program development. Also analyze data to develop new products and services and recommend improvements to existing products and services. Recommend changes to business strategies based on current market conditions and customer preferences.

Ms. Yaniry Pacheco’s prior experience includes stints at the U.S. Embassy and has traveled extensively worldwide in previous roles. She has several years of experience negotiating contracts in multiple industries. She is very well connected and respected in the Dominican community and will guide Contingency Consulting Group’s efforts towards corporate social responsibility and corporate partnerships in the Dominican Republic.




Licda., Priscila Pacheco Correa
Corporate Legal Counselor

Ms. Priscila Pacheco is an attorney and Corporate Legal Counselor for Contingency Consulting Group. In her role, she advises leadership on legal matters and is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents with vendors, subcontractors, and partners. Consults with management, corporate advisors, tax experts, and staff on legal matters. Negotiates and drafts contractual agreements and advises on employment matters. Responsible for governance on industry-specific issues and regulatory affairs.

After earning her academic credentials in law, Ms. Pacheco earned a Master’s degree in Contemporary Legal Procedures. As a lifelong learner, she continues to earn appropriate legal certifications. She also serves as a mentor in multiple community-based organizations.
